Accuracy

Filed under: life — Kevin @ 2:55 pm

So I stopped at the McD’s in Berrien Springs today because my client took an hour longer than they were supposed to. Anyway, I ordered one of those burgers that has a real slice of tomato on it and real onions (verses the chopped up kind on the qp’s) and asked for double meat. I pay for it (extra for the double meat) and what do I find two miles down the highway? They gave me a fillet O’fish. The single crappiest sandwich they make. Oh well, I called and complained and they got it made right at the next one down the highway.

double dip recession

Filed under: oppinions, politics — Kevin @ 2:41 pm

The President recently said in a Fox News interview that we were in danger of a double dip recession if we continue to have vast national debt increases from tax cuts or another “stimulus” spending package. OK, just a few things: first cutting taxes does not cause deficits, spending does. Secondly, Mr. President, you have spent more than 4 times more of our money this year than any other president has ever spent (and you accomplished that in the first half of the year). If you realize that it is going to ruin our economy, then the answer is simple QUIT DOING IT!

Why was he there?

Filed under: oppinions — Kevin @ 2:23 pm

A lot of people, including myself have asked the question; “Why was he there?” of the suspected shooter in the Ft. Hood attack yesterday, Major Nidal Malik Hasan. Many people’s first and immediate thought is “Why was this guy allowed in our military?” I can tell you that there have always been men and women in our armed services who might surprise you. I went through basic training in 1987 with an Iranian man and when we went to the riffle range he showed a lot of people that he was an expert shot. This is disconcerting to many people but it is nothing new. To me, the real question that should be asked is- Why, since they apparently knew that he was voicing some pretty high tension arguments that seemed very anti-American, or at least anti-US military, was he allowed to continue in his post? Why was he not being investigated? I am 100% for free speech and thought for every American, but when a soldier whom other soldiers have to depend for their lives is having these issues, shouldn’t that have been setting off alarm bells for some people and prompting at least a little deeper look? Soldiers are not ordinary citizens and if you have served you know that we do not have all the rights that ordinary civilians do. Would a closer look have saved lives? I don’t know but I am betting some people with stars on their shoulders are wondering that today.

Free Speech?

When people say that free speech is obtained by limiting what others can say to make things more “fair” is that really free speech? I don’t think so.
