day of worship

Filed under: life — Kevin @ 1:27 pm

We had a good morning of worship today. Things are good at the church. Tonight will likely be good as well but I am looking forward to finishing up the book of Revelation and going on to something else. In the mean time, I think we will A) eat I can smell the wonderful roast in the crock pot and the potatoes Kathy is mashing right now… I just went and helped her with that… and then probably B) take a short nap. Then C) work on the shed roof and finally D) prepare for this evenings class. It’s a full day.

If you think the persecution is only in China, think again

Filed under: religion, Citizenship — Kevin @ 10:04 am

A couple in San Diego County has had a county official tell them that their home bible study has to be shut down because they cannot “illegally use land” for major religious purposes. They have a bible study at their privately owned home which averages about 15 people. I have to wonder what the actual agenda of this county official is, because it sure isn’t to have anything to do with the Constitution of the United States. Yes they have obtained legal representation and yes they are challenging this, but rest assured this is what would happen all over if people were not standing up for protecting their religious freedoms. The constitution does not exist unless people fight for it.

The President’s nominee to the Supreme Court

Filed under: oppinions, politics, Citizenship — Kevin @ 1:18 pm

So, have you taken in all the hype? Have you heard, until your ears melt off, all the drooling praise that is being heaped on Judge Sotomayor? I have to wonder why the main stream press refuses to do anything other than be the official publishers of the White House’s dogma. For a really good reality check view of what is going on, you should click here to read and article by one of my favorite columnists, Michelle Malkin.

California Supreme Court gets it right!

Filed under: oppinions, Citizenship — Kevin @ 6:58 pm

The CSC today ruled 6 to 1 in favor of the constitutional amendment which passed last fall banning Gay marriage in the state. You can read the article here. While this should have been expected (even in California the libs can only block the will of the people so long before there would be trouble) The homosexual activists are not finished. They plan to try to put up a new vote to overturn it as early as next year.

interesting imported products

There is a sight I was just looking at that has some really different and interesting products. Most of them are Tibetan imports for that friend of yours with a flair for the unusual. My own personal knowledge and involvement in Yoga is doing some stretches to a DVD with my wife, but if this is the sort of thing you are in to, then you might find these Singing Bowls to be of interest. You can check the individual sounds that they make so that you are sure to get the precise sound you are looking for, not some general grab-bag sort of thing. They also have a large assortment of other Tibetan products like beads, some really nice wool handbags chimes and even gongs.

shed work

Today I will be building trusses. Thanks to my father-in-law for showing me how to build them professionally, he used to build them at a factory back in the day. I hope to have the roof on by tonight.
