I would not have believed it if I had not seen the video. I am thinking how this conversation went with her husband afterward. “Honey, I rolled the car.” “Oh my gosh, are you OK.?” “Yeah, I’m fine and there was pretty little damage to the car.” “um, what? How did that happen?” “Well, I was going into a driveway at about 4 miles per hour and I ran into the gate and flipped the car.” LOOOOOONG pause. “You did what?”

I am going to put this on failblog.org. Kathy was just reading through the 1040 forms and instructions while we sit here in the library. Then she started laughing and dropped the workbook. I mean she was REALLY laughing. This is what she found so funny. In the definitions of what a “qualifying child” is the first bullet point is this, I kid you not, this is a quote “Your qualifying child must be younger than you” Yup. Only the government would feel the need to point this out. and Obama thinks they should be running, well, everything.

Did I mention “Thank you”? That goes out to all of the Republicans in the House of Representatives. I also tip my hat to the 11 Democrats who voted with them yesterday in opposition to the largest Pork barrel spending bill of all time. Yes, the gargantuan thing still passed, but a clear message was sent “We will not lay down and be quiet just because Obama thinks he is god and wants us to be quiet.” And in two years when it is apparent that this thing was a worthless debt builder that has mortgaged our grandchildren’s future, the conservatives in congress will have clean hands.

Go ahead, drink that Pepsi. It may do wonders for you. It did for the guy in this video Then again, perhaps you don’t want to be gay. Perhaps you don’t endorse that lifestyle. Well, Pepsi sure does. They gave a million $ last year to promote the gay lifestyle and now they are putting openly gay supportive commercials on regular TV. I join a boycott of Pepsi and if you are interested you can do it at the link above for the video.

The big question is “why?” Why would he bother? He has already made it clear that he is not going to listen to people who are conservative, what is he up to? He does not need on single Republican in the house to vote for his “stimulus” to get it to pass and he only needs two Republicans in the Senate, which he will most certainly get. So what does he care if all the others vote against it? Could it be that he knows there will be a huge political backlash to this in a year or two when people wake up and realize that it 1) did no good and 2) put us so far in debt it will stagnate us for decades? I think this is the case and he wants to be able to share the blame with everyone. Don’t fall for it Republicans, stand your ground and when the public comes to it’s senses you can point out that you were not a part of it. It happened this way in 1993 and Obama does not want a repeat of that.

well, if you live where you can SEE the grass all year, anyway, right now, ours is buried beneath 2 feet of snow. but when it IS visible, it is becoming a pain to try to keep nice. I water it, I fertilize it, I weed it, and it still doesn’t look like anything to brag about. I think it would be nice to just replace it with the artificial stuff like they do in commercial landscaping. That might not really be practical for my 1 acre lawn, but it might be a really great idea if you are going to be putting up any playground turf. Or if you are like my wife’s grandfather and you want your very own golf course in your yard you could put in synthetic putting greens. No really, people are doing this. Check it out.
