a polar bear club is a group of people who go out in the middle of winter and sit in a sauna and then jump into a hole in the ice of a natural body of water. It is, um, refreshing. This group is from Poland and apparently they forgot one tinsy detail.

what a gorgeous day not to be indoors. I am very sorry for those of you who have to. I am happy to be out. My parents are supposed to show up sometime today.

I just found out I was the blog of the day at P. P. P. That is really cool. Perhaps I will get several new viewers from the publicity there. I already had one guy drop me a note (believe it or not that’s how I found out I was it. I hadn’t done anything on that site except look for some opps todday). I just read an article that said Obama was probably NOT going to follow through on one of his campaign promises to raise taxes on the “rich”. At least not just yet. He has all but decided that raising those taxes on the wealthy (read:people who invest, do business, own businesses and employ people) because it would be… wait for it… bad for the economy! Huh? A liberal democrat is saying that it would cause problems for the economy to raise taxes on the “rich”? Can I believe my eyes when I read that? Is Ronald Reagan doing handstands in his grave saying “HA! I tried to tell them this 20 years ago!” When it comes down to “Do we destroy the economy to buy some votes from people who don’t have a clue how the economy works?” the answer, even from far leftists is “No.” The problem is, the fiscal conservatives were saying this BEFORE the election, Obama only admitted it after he already got a lot of votes by saying he would get those nasty rich people and make them pay.

Last week Kathy got me this radio to listen to while I am driving the bus. I am alone in it for over 2 hours a day. Here is the problem. most of the radio stations I like cut out about 2/3 of the way to my destination so I started listening to this one which, when I first heard it, I thought it was a 70’s rock station. Turns out it is a country music station. Here is the terrible part (nearly in a whisper) I actually like some of it. Yes, I said that. I still can’t stand the twangy crud but a lot of it sounds like more mellow rock from the 60’s and 70’s like the above mentioned song (in fact the song I first heard was kind of a tribute to “Sweet home”. I have no idea what is happening to me.
