It just keeps getting worse. I think that “lucky” is something many of these folks really need. ‘Cause they sure don’t have smarts on their side.

How do you measure lucky? part 4
How do you measure lucky? part 3
I just cannot imagine doing some of the things that these people are doing. They could die so easily. It is truly amazing that these are videos of people that didn’t get hurt.

bye bye hard butter.
I know this seems to be nit-picky but I like some things to be just the way they are supposed to be. Butter is supposed to be soft. I really don’t like butter being hard so I don’t want it kept in the fridge (our German exchange student said our bread was just too soft). I want it to be out where it can stay soft but you don’t want it going bad in the summer from being left out in the heat either. Well, I would like to say that there was some new high tech gadget that takes care of that for us but the reality is that it is a low tech thing that has been around for centuries. It’s a French butter keeper and it is really cool. Somebody long before refridgeration was invented came up with a good way to keep butte from going bad and this was it. The new toy
We finally got our new toy that I bought for Kathy. It is an iRobot Roomba 510. Now I am still having a discussion with the dude who sold it to me on e-bay (it is supposed to be new and is used plus it was missing a part) but we are loving how it does things. It is a robot vacuum cleaner that does the sweeping up for us. We just put it in a room (and get the junk off the floor like you would when you regularly vacuum) and turn it loose. Today it did our bedroom while I was in the shower and getting dressed. It really is cool and I would have never thought that we would have one if you asked me 20 years ago. I hope it doesn’t take over the house and hold us hostage, you know, turning the other appliances against us in our sleep…
I hate e-mail problems
Ever have those nasty spams? You know the ones I am talking about, the ones that have very graphic wording and make offers with little pills? Yeah, we were having those at the church and even the ladies e-mail addresses were getting them. I don’t like those. In fact, I really have a problem with them. I ended up spending about two or three hours one day just trying to set up the e-mails so those wouldn’t come through. And still some get through. There are ways of taking care of stuff like that and also getting things safely set up for viruses and other e-mail problems. Appriver has an effective spam filtering service and they can make sure you are safe from viruses and internet pollution. They do such a good job that they have 97% customer retention si. Not too shabby. They must be doing something right.
Groundhog #2
Yesterday evening I was out and just decided to pick up my .22 riffle and walk around the house and scout out any of the groundhogs. I caught one in the open and BAMM! that was pretty much all she wrote for him. Kathy came round with her copetition grade single shot pellet gun (that thing is like a sniper riffle) and saw that it was not yet dead so she put one through it’s cranium to put it down. That’s two in three days. I tossed him in the hole his buddy had crawled down.
