So tonight I rented a movie for the family to watch. I chose “Martian Child” with John Cusak. I like the guy as an actor already and have seen most of his stuff but I really have to say, this was the best movie I have seen in a long time. It had everything you want in a movie and none of the stuff you don’t. I don’t think there was a single swear word and there was no scantily clad women (or unclad women). It was just a really good film. And no, this post was not sponsored, it was just a personal review of a good film.

Knee Replacement
I have bad knees. Not totally bad, but eventually they will need work. Instead of just wondering what will need to be done or talking with someone who knows someone who had something done, the best thing to do would be to look at the experts in Knee Replacement. That way you know exactly what will be done. These folks know their stuff and they have specific products and proceedures designed for the individual patient. Instead of cutting the bone to fit the implant, they taylor make the implant for as little invasive surgery as possible. This miniumizes the trauma and scarring and specificaly helps younger patients who want to remain active for as long as possible.
Chinese proverb retold
Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and you can sell him a fishing license. Then you can charge him sales tax when he buys a fishing pole, a reel, bait, tackle, a tackle box, a boat, a motor, and a trailer. You can charge him a registration fee for his boat and trailer and a launch fee when he puts it in the water. You can tell him how to fish, where to fish, when to fish, what to fish for, what to fish with, how many fish he can catch and how big the fish must be. If he breaks a rule you can put him in jail, fine him, charge him court costs and make him pay restitution for the fish he caught. You can confiscate all his fishing equipment, his boat, motor, trailer and the vehicle he pulls it with and sell them all at public auction.
(Moral of the story - Just take the free fish!)
I like Churches
I am glad to see that churches are getting modernized, like using the internet. We have a website at our church and I see that many other churches, older style churches right up to the ultra-modern, are getting with the electronic age. You can get online and find out a lot about a church before you decide to visit. That is real helpful. It is important for our families to be worshipping God together and the internet and the church representations on it are a good tool for us to get our families involved in worship. Take for instance this one which is one of the churches in Greenville SC area. You can learn a lot of good information about their worship and theology from their site. They seem to be a good, family based church with Christ as the most important aspect (as it should be). I am glad they have a site. Find a church. Get involved. Worship God.
Sometimes I feel like this
mexicanrestaurantad.wmv Have you ever had this feeling? Last Wednesday I had the poor choice of eating frozen burritos for lunch when I had to be at praise team practice and easter choir practice that evening. I just kept slipping out to the office a few times.
Oh yeah, POWER TOOLS!
Hugh hoe hoe, (Tim Allen style grunting) Power tools! There is nothing quite like them for a guy like me. I love to just go out in my garage and go through my tools sometimes, even if I don’t have anything that I need to be doing! the only thing better than having power tools is having power tools that are made right here in the USA, the midwest even! Ohio Power tools makes some pretty great stuff that most every guy I know would just love to have. Take, for instance the Milwaukee Micro Driver 12V. It doesn’t have the bulk of a huge cordless drill/screwdriver, but it has power to spare and all the accessories! You can Quick change your bit with this one handed chuck so you don’t have to let go of whatever else is in your other hand. It also has one of those great LED lights that don’t use much of any power and yet light up those dark little corners where it is tough to see where you are putting your tool bit. It comes with two batteries, the charger and a case. This 12V powerhouse doesn’t have the size you would expect but it does have the extras. One thing I really like is that it has overmolding so that you don’t make contact with your finished surfaces with a tough hard metal tool that would scratch them all up. Take a look at this thing and I think you will want to add it to YOUR garage line up as well.
