Untitled part 2

He threw himself to his feet and ran over to her.  She lay bleeding in the snow.  He dropped down beside her and cupped her in his arms, tears running down his face he held her and he whispered to her that everything would be alright.  An ambulance siren could be heard in the distance and a small crowd had gathered to see if they could help but it was too late, no one could help now, she was dead.

When Mrs. Robinson answered the knock at the door she was shocked to see Darin on the other side.  He, after all, was supposed to be with her daughter in Cananda.  Then she noticed something was wrong.  Darin looked terrible, as if he hadn’t slept in days, and she knew something terrible had befallen them.
Once Darin had come inside and sat down he slowly told her and her husband what had happened two days prior.  He hadn’t slept or eaten since, he just sat in his hotel room unable to go on.
Mrs. Robinson started to cry and ran off to the back room.  Mr. Robinson got up without a word, started off after her, then stopped, gave a sour glance back at Darin, and continued down the hall to comfort his grieving wife.
Darin left.  He was on the verge of losing his mind.  He drove straight to the nearest liquor store and bought himself two bottles of cheap tequilla.
He never called back to his base and a day after he was supposed to be back his commander started making calls.  Three days later an MP and a military chaplin came to pick him up.  Darin refused to go back to work and spent the next several days drunk in his barracks room.
After several unsuccessful visits by the chaplain and the military phyciatrist he was deemed unfit for duty and put out of the Army on a medical discharge.  He had gone completely over the deep end.

Get help to get out of debt

Filed under: sponsored — Kevin @ 11:05 am

Debt is, regardless of what finance companies try to tell you, a terrible thing.  It ruins people financially and the way that the western world is living on debt is going to ruin our societies economies.  I am a firm believer in buying only what you can afford.  The only debt we have is our mortgage which we are paying off ahead of schedule.  If you are carrying alarge amount of debt and you don’t know how to get out from under that seeming impossible mountain you should get some debt advice.  No one wants to be a slave to the people you owe money to.  There are several ways to reduce your debt, one is debt consolidation.  Another, availble in some places, is an IVA.  These are all better than destroying your financial future with forclosures or bankruptcies (which are not as easy to get any more).  Don’t let debt ruin your life, get some help and get out from under it.

It was cool that November evening when Darin signed out from his Army post, but he didn’t mind.  He was on his way home on leave, and he was going to his own wedding.
As he drove home, he could think of nothing but her.  Her beauty and their love for each other.  He had met Cindy years before and they had become friends.  But in the past months of their friendship, they had fallen in love so she wasn’t surprised when on one of his frequent phone calls, he had proposed, and he was delighted when she had accepted.
He thought nothing of the nineteen hours and six states he had to drive through to get home to her.  It was a small price to pay to be with the woman he loved.  As he pulled into the driveway of her parents home she came running out of the house, her robe dancing in the wind, tears of joy running down her face.  It was very late, but she had waited up for him.  They met with a kiss, halfway up the walk and everything was right in their world.
The next day the wedding went off beautifully.  Her father, being a minister, both gave the bride away and bound her to her groom in wedlock.  They were on cloud nine and nothing in the world could bring them down.
An hour after the wedding they were on the plane and headed North.  They would honeymoon in Canada.  It was beautiful when they landed.  A freshly fallen snow covered the landscape of the little Ontario town and the temperature was just right for all kinds of outdoor, as well as indoor, sports for the newlywed couple.  It was a perfect storybook scene.
The two caught a taxi to the hotel where they had reservations and they would be there in minutes.  He couldn’t take his eyes off her the entire ride.  He felt so lucky to have her.  They had known each other so long and he had loved her for months before he had ever let her know how he felt.  He leaned over and kissed her deeply and whispered, “I love you Cindy.  I always have and I always will, no matter what.”
When the taxi arrived at their hotel, he got out of the cab and ran around to the other side and, as a gentleman, opened her door for her and helped her out of the cab.  She was only nineteen and he only twenty one but they felt as if they had been in love for centuries.
He carried her up the stars to the hotel room and then across the threshold in traditional manner.  When they were inside, he tipped the valet a five so that he would leave and they didn’t even bother to unpack.
We awoke the next mornign early.  He was used to it.  He had been waking up early for almost three years in the military, but that was almost over now.  He had only a few months left and then he would go to work for the state police making good money.  He had already been accepted to the acadamy and planned to work as he was taking night courses at the local college.  He had planned his whole life out to the last detail and nothing could go wrong, he had seen to that.  They were going to have a good upper middle class life, and later on, even better.  He had left nothing to chance.  Unbeknownst to Cindy he was even already making a deal to buy a little house in a small town where he knew they would be happy.
She was still asleep.  He loved to sit and watch her sleep.  Even though he knew that she didnt’ like him to do so.  He couldn’t resist, she was so beautiful and so peaceful as she slept.  He felt good about life.
He eased himself out of bed so as not to disturb her, went to the bathroom and brushed his teeth.  He then called room service and ordered two light breakfasts to be brought up in an hour.  He then went back to bed and woke her with a kiss.
After breakfast they showered and sat down to figure out what to do for the day.  Darin wanted to go skiing on the slopes near the hotel, but Cindy wanted to go shopping.  So they agreed to go skiing the next day and spend that day visiting the quaint shops that lined the main street all that day.
They had only been to two stores and it was already noon.  Darin was piled in bags and boxes which he insisted he carry.  “It’s my job to carry this stuff” he said “and yours is to pick them out.”
They were walking out of a small clothing store when Darin slipped on the ice and fell flat on his back.  Boxes and bags went flying and he started to laugh.  Cindy had gone into the street to hail a taxi for them and had turned to see what was so funny.  Then she saw Darin sprawled out on the ice and packages all over.  She couldn’t help but laugh and she saw that Darin was laughing also.  But then the look on his face changed.  He looked scared, even horified, and was desperately trying to get to his feet, but the ice wouldn’t let him.
He screamed to her “Cindy look out!” She turned to see the huge beer truck, sliding sideways on the ice.  The driver desterately trying to regain control of the vehicle, but it was no good, the truck hit her dead on.  She was thrown several feet and lay still where she landed.
Darin, who had finally regained himself, dropped to his knees as he watched the terrible scene.  He couldn’t believe this was happening.  Not to her, not to him, not then….

Gossimer domain registration and web hosting

Filed under: sponsored — Kevin @ 9:47 am

I like to blog and I also like to use my blog to make money with sponsored posts.  My friend also does this but her blog is on one of those huge blogging networks where she does not have her own domain.  This is a huge hindrance to her ability to get readers and to get sponsored posts.  I told her to register her own domain and have her own blog hosted somewhere as I do.  The problem is that this is usually quite expensive and she doesn’t have a lot of money to start-up with (and will have to have it shifted to her own domain for at least 90 days before she can make any money from it).  That is where Gossimer can be of some help.  They can help her setup her new blog wiht their sitebuilder on her own domain, host it and have all kinds of assistance for MySQL, frontpage and more.

OK, they start now.

I am going to start today, doing what I told you I would do, which is use this site to publish some of the short stories (and some not so short ones) that I have written over the years.  the problem is that most of them are unfinished.  I will start with the oldest existing one I have (I wrote several before this but no longer have them).  The first one was written about 18 years ago.  So without further stalling I will now proceed to my first (although untitled) story, um, right after the next sponsored post that is… :-)

Bad credit offers

Filed under: sponsored — Kevin @ 2:55 pm

Some times people get themselves into trouble and they need a chance to fix it.  Sometimes that is with their credit.  This can be a problem because once you have messed up your credit people will take advantage of this fact and rip you off because you can’t get credit anywhere else.  There is now a servic where people can look at several offers for people with bad credit and take the best one, not just take the first offer that comes to them (which could be very bad).  There are also ways for people to rebuild their credit by making payments on time.
